New Medical Clinic Opens on Northwest Field to Bring Trusted Care, Anywhere

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- In an effort to better serve members of Team Andersen, the 36th Medical Group opened a new satellite medical clinic on Northwest Field, Guam.
The new medical facility will streamline many processes for service members who previously had to transit to the main clinic on Andersen Air Force Base.
“The independent duty medical technician (IDMT) led clinic will provide sick call for acute illnesses and injuries,” said Tech. Sgt. Amber Schumacher, 36th Medical Operations Squadron medical technician. “We will also offer monthly physical therapy sessions and behavioral health services. Our intent is to appropriately scope the services we offer, when and where our service members need them.”
The 200-square-foot clinic is built on the Pacific Regional Training Center, a revitalized World War II era air field on the Northern corner of Guam, and opens a new avenue to health care for service members without taking away from the mission.
“The clinic was built with the intent to minimize the impact on training and duty hours for those seeking medical care for acute illnesses,” Schumacher said. “The clinic is open to active-duty personnel, to include Silver Flag and Commando Warrior students, and guardsmen and reservists with a copy of active-duty orders.”
By bringing trusted care to Team Andersen when and where they need it, this new clinic also falls in line with Air Force Surgeon General Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Mark A. Ediger’s focus area of advancing the mission through integrated operational support.
