Secretary Tillerson met with the new Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila on Aug. 6.

Secretary Tillerson also participated in the East Asia Summit Ministerial, the U.S.-ASEAN Ministerial, and the Lower Mekong Initiative Ministerial. During these meetings, Secretary Tillerson met with his other counterparts and discussed a range of issues including the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, maritime security, and counterterrorism.
