Alaska National Guard immediate aerial survey reduces earthquake havoc

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska - Sgt. David Bedard with the 134th Public Affairs Detachment, Alaska Army National Guard, records an aerial damage assessment Nov. 30, 2018, on a C-130J "Combat King II". In a matter of hours, members of the Alaska Air National Guard's Maintenance and Operation groups turned a planned community engagement into an aerial survey of earthquake damage in Southcentral Alaska, reporting findings to the State of Alaska's Joint Operations Center.
