Brigadier General Burdett K. Thompson is presently serving as the Deputy Director for Strategic Planning and Policy (J5), U.S. Pacific Command.  He is a native of North Carolina and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Infantry in August 1984.  BG Thompson most recently served as the 25th Infantry Division Deputy Commanding General for Support

BG Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science in Military Studies from Norwich University, a Masters of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, a Masters of Military Art and Science from the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
