Sergeant Major Victor L. Milam

Sergeant Major Victor L. Milam was born in McKinney, Texas. He enlisted in the Army on14 October 2001.  He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bliss, Texas, where he earned the MOS 14T.

Sergeant Major Milam’s previous leadership positions include: Launcher Platoon Section Chief; Launcher Platoon Sergeant; First Sergeant; Noncommissioned Officer Academy Small Group Leader, Senior Small Group Leader, and Basic Leader Course School Chief/First Sergeant; Headquarters Battery First Sergeant, 32nd Army Air & Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas; Operations Sergeant Major for 4-3 Air Defense Artillery Regiment; Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Office of the Program Manager- Saudi Arabia National Guard (OPM-SANG), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; G3 Operations Sergeant Major at 94th Army Air & Missile Defense Command, Hickam; G3 Operations Sergeant Major at U.S. Army Pacific Command; and selected to serve as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for Joint Task Force- Micronesia activated on 14JUN2024.

Sergeant Major Milam served on multiple missions: Operation Enduring Freedom 2003; Operation Noble Eagle 2004-2005; two over-seas tours to the Republic of Korea 2006-2007 and 2009-2012; Operation Enduring Freedom (Spartan Shield) 2019-2020; and security cooperation, diplomatic key leader engagements integral to foreign military sales, 2021-2022, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Sergeant Major Milam’s military education includes: Primary Leadership Development Course; Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course; Senior Leader Course; Master Resiliency Trainer; Army Basic Instructor Course; Small Group Instructor Course; Systems Approach to Training- Basic Course; Company Commander/1SG Pre-Command Course; graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Course, Class 69; and the Space Cadre basic course.

Sergeant Major Milam’s civilian academic achievements include: Bachelor of Professional Studies in Business and Management; and Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Excelsior University.

Sergeant Major Milam’s awards include: Meritorious Service Medal (6th Award); Army Commendation Medal (4th Award); Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award); Good Conduct Medal (7th Award); National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism  Service Medal; Korean Defense Service Medal; Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 5); Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 4); and the basic Space cadre badge. He is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, recipient of the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, and continues to serve with community outreach programs for over 28-years.
