Major General Kidd enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1989 and was later commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1994.
As a company grade officer, she served as a Platoon Leader, Battalion S1, Battalion S3, Company Commander, Division Support Command S4, and as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commander of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). During these years, she deployed for Operation Joint Endeavor and again in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). As a field grade officer, MG Kidd served in several key positions including as the Logistics Planner for the 3rd Infantry Division during the “Surge” in Iraq and as a Logistics Instructor at the Army’s Command and General Staff College (CGSC). She also had the opportunity to serve as an Executive Officer on several occasions including to the Deputy Commandant of the Combined Arms Center, the Deputy Commanding General for Support of United States Forces-Iraq, the Commander of U.S. Army Cyber Command, and for the Deputy to the Commander of Army Materiel Command. Other key billets in which she served as a Colonel include Chief of Plans in the CENTCOM J4, and as the Director of Sustainment and Force Management at the Army’s CGSC. MG Kidd has commanded at the Battalion, Brigade and General Officer levels, leading a Battalion for the Defense Logistics Agency-Energy, as the 34th Commander of the Anniston Army Depot and as the Commanding General of the 593d Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Joint Base Lewis McChord. Most recently, MG Kidd served in Korea as the United Nations Command U4, Combined Forces Command Deputy C4, and the US Forces Korea J4.
MG Kidd holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Mass Media, a Master of Science in Logistics Management, a Master of Military Arts and Science from the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School at the National Defense University. Notably, MG Kidd was the Master Logistician from her CGSC class and the Distinguished Honor Graduate from her Senior Service College class at the Eisenhower School.
Among her awards and decorations are two Defense Superior Service Medals, four Legions of Merit, two Bronze Star Medals, and the NATO Medal. She has been awarded the Somervell Medal of Excellence in multifunctional logistics and is a Distinguished Member of the Quartermaster Regiment.
Major General Kidd is married to Dr. Justin Kidd, a former U.S. Marine and a retired U.S. Army Officer who continues to serve as an Associate Professor for the U.S Army’s CGSC.
