U.S., China Participate in Disaster Management Exchange in Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon - Mr. Steven Sobieszczyk, an earth scientist from the United States Geological Survey, briefs about flood forecasting to participants of the 13th iteration of the U.S. - China disaster management exchange in Portland, Ore, Nov 13. The annual United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) Security Cooperation event with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is an opportunity to share lessons learned between USARPAC and the PLA in order to increase capacity to respond to natural disasters in the Pacific region.
