APRA HARBOR, Guam

Engineman 1st Class Scott Barnesziegmann, from Wall Lake, Iowa, installs a component for the JP5 service pump discharge line aboard the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Tulsa (LCS 16). Tulsa, part of Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 7, is on a rotational deployment, operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region. Amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) transits the San Diego Bay in preparation for arrival pierside at Naval Base San Diego. Essex, a part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group, returned to Naval Base San Diego, March 4, after a deployment to U.S. 3rd, 5th, and 7th Fleet areas of operation in support of regional stability and a free and open Info-Pacific. The 611th Air Communications Squadron Mission Defense Team visited the a Long Range Radar Site to perform cybersecurity measures at Utqiagvik, Alaska, Feb. 15, 2022. The 611th ACOMS visited the LRRS to validate the integrity of the data being received from the site. Share

Capt. Fred Goldhammer, commanding officer, speaks with The Honorable Rahm Emanuel, the U.S. ambassador to Japan, in the hangar bay of the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). During his visit, Emanuel toured Ronald Reagan, addressed the crew, and served as the keynote speaker in a naturalization ceremony where 17 candidates from 11 different countries became American citizens. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region. U.S. Marines assigned to the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, conduct waterborne training with an Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) from shore to loading amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23) at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 12, 2022. The two-day waterborne training evolution focused on safety and transport capabilities for both the Marine Corps and Navy and is part of a larger training plan to refine tactics and doctrine for amphibious operations.
