WATERS TO THE EAST OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA (Mar. 27, 2015) - The forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) and forward-deployed dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) operate with Republic of Korea (ROK) Navy amphibious assault ship ROKS Dokdo (LPH 6111), ROKS Hyang Ro Bong (LST 683) and ROKS Sung In Bong (LST 685). U.S Sailors and Marines from the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), which also includes the the forward-deployed amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), along with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) are participating in the Korean Marine Exchange Program (KMEP) in the ROK with the ROK Marine Corps and Navy.

POHANG, South Korea (Mar. 30, 2015) - Republic of Korea (ROK) Marines unload onto a landing zone from a U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey belonging to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), during Korea Marine Exchange Program (KMEP) 15. KMEPs are annual combined exercises conducted by U.S. Marine and Navy Forces with the ROK in order to strengthen working relationships across the range of military operations - from disaster relief to complex, expeditionary operations.

Nancy Norton, U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) director for Command, Control, Communications and Cyber, provides opening remarks during the Multinational Communications Interoperability Program (MCIP) Planning Staff Workshop 2, in preparation for the upcoming humanitarian and disaster relief capstone event Pacific Endeavor (PE), at the Ala Moana Hotel. Pacific Endeavor is a series of events that occur each year designed to manage the momentum of the Indo-Asia Pacific rebalance and strengthen relationships with allies and partners by testing the communications response to a natural disaster. PE15 is scheduled to take place in Manila, Philippines, for approximately two weeks during the months of August and September and is set to involve 20 allied and partner nations.
