Pacific Air Forces Commander Meets with Team Yokota

20 November 2019

From Airman 1st Class Brieana E Bolfing

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Gen. CQ Brown Jr., Pacific Air Forces commander, visited Yokota Air Base, Japan, to get a first-hand look at Yokota’s Airmen at work and the ironclad alliance between the U.S. and Japan Nov. 13-14, 2019.

In addition to Brown, his spouse, Sharene Brown, Chief Master Sgt. Anthony Johnson, PACAF command chief, and his spouse, Stephanie, visited to learn more about the base, mission and to emphasize the importance of the Airmen’s vital role in ensuring regional security and stability.

“As PACAF commander, I want our installations across the Pacific to know that I am absolutely committed to our Airmen,” Brown said. “It is through that commitment that I will do all I can to ensure they are ready to meet the demands of this challenging and important time in the Indo-Pacific region.”

Yokota was the second stop for the COMPACAF on his tour of Japan and the Airmen that serve there.

“I have had the privilege of seeing our PACAF Airmen in action,” Brown said. “And I can say with full confidence that they not only met my expectations, but exceeded those expectations in many aspects.

“They have proved that they are not only good neighbors to our host countries but true representatives of our core values, demonstrating the level of professionalism expected of the U.S. Air Force,” Brown continued.

Brown and Johnson ended their visit with an all-call where he personally addressed the members of Team Yokota.

“I want to say thank you to our Yokota Air Base Airmen,” Brown said. “You are key to maintaining the strong bilateral relationship shared with the Koku-Jieitai (Japan Air Self-Defense Force). Continue to build on that partnership with our Japanese allies, on your training and the mission. If we do that, Yokota and all of the Pacific will be ready to respond to any contingency situation.”
