SASEBO, Japan - SASEBO, Japan (June 26, 2025) – Capt. Antonio L. Hyde, the commodore of Mine Countermeasures Squadron (MCMRON) 7, and Capt. Peter W. Haynes, deputy commodore, salute the United States and Japan flags during a change of command and Commander, Task Force (CTF) 77 establishment ceremony in Sasebo, Japan June 26, 2025. During the ceremony, Capt. Peter W. Haynes relieved the final commodore of MCMRON 7, Capt. Antonio L. Hyde, as the first commanding officer of Commander, Task Force 77, U.S. 7th Fleet’s newest task force. CTF 77 directs mine countermeasure assets in the clearance of sea mines to ensure free flow of commerce by sea and freedom of movement of US, allies, and partner nation ships and auxiliaries, in peacetime and in conflict.
