Colonel Duncan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Murray State University, Murray Kentucky and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Central Michigan University. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserves in 1988 while in college as a simultaneous member cadet in the ROTC program at Murray State where he graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on 19 December, 1991 in Army Aviation.
Colonel Duncan’s assignments include: III/V Platoon Leader and Squadron S4, 4th Squadron, 6th Cavalry Brigade (Air Combat), Fort Hood, Texas; Maintenance Platoon Leader, 2nd Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas; Executive Officer and Maintenance Platoon Leader, C Company, 52nd Aviation Regiment (AVIM), Camp Humphreys, Korea; Avionics and Electronic Platoon Leader and the Production Control Officer, C Company, 25th Aviation Regiment (AVIM), Commander, D Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii; Enrollment and Scholarship Officer, Capital University Army ROTC, Columbus, Ohio; Director of the Rescue Coordination Center, Multi-National Corps, Baghdad, Iraq; B Company Commander and Battalion Executive Officer, 615th Aviation Support Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas, Division Aviation Officer, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Commander, 602nd Aviation Support Battalion, Camp Humphreys, Korea; and most recently, USPACOM, J37 Training and Exercise Division Chief. Colonel Duncan is currently assigned as the USPACOM Inspector General.
His military education includes: Aviation Officer Basic Course and Initial Entry Rotary Wing Training; Army Maintenance Managers Course; Aviation Officer Advanced Course; UH-60 Maintenance Test Pilot Course; resident Command and General Staff Officers Course; and the DA Inspector General Course. Colonel Duncan’s awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service medals, Korea Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and the NATO Medal. His badges include the Combat Action Badge, Senior Aviator Badge, Air Assault Badge and the Airborne Badge. (as of March 2015)
