In this photo, Nepalese military service members unload supplies from a UH-1Y Huey in Charikot on May 5, 2015. Marines with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469 and Marine Medium Tilt Rotor Squadron 262 carried supplies in a UH-1Y Huey and MV-22 Ospreys to Charikot.  The supplies will provide Nepalese people with shelter after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck central Nepal, April 25, causing fatalities, injuries and significant damage. The government of Nepal declared a state of emergency and requested international assistance. The U.S. military, at the direction of the U.S. Agency for International Development, will continue to support Nepal as needed. HMLA-469 and VMM-262 are attached to Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan (May 11, 2105) - An R-12 fuel servicing truck approaches a KC-135 Stratotanker to conduct aircraft refueling. The R-12 vehicles hook up to a newly installed Type III hydrant system and feeds fuel from underground tanks straight into the aircraft.

DARWIN, Australia (May 8, 2015) - Sergeant Anissa Hogbin, a bugler with the Army Band Darwin, Australian Defence Force, sounds "Last Post" during the memorial service commemorating the 73rd Anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea May 8 at the USS Peary Gun Memorial, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. The Battle of the Coral Sea was a series of naval engagements, between the U.S. and Australia against Japan, which occurred May 4 to May 8, 1942 on the northeast coast of Australia. Beyond purely military training, Marine Rotational Force - Darwin greatly appreciates Australia's hospitality and utilizes community engagements to learn and share with the host nation.

KATHMANDU, Nepal  (May 9, 2015) - Nepalese army soldiers and U.S. Air Force 36th Contingency Response Group Airmen work with Republic of Singapore Air Force members to unload relief supplies from an RSAF C-130 Hercules at the Tribhuvan International.  The Nepalese army and Airmen worked together to process 537,816 pounds of cargo in a 24-hour period from 13 aircraft delivering relief supplies delivered in response to a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck the nation April 25, 2015.

The Nepalese government requested the U.S. government's assistance after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the country April 25. U.S Marines from III Marine Expeditionary Force came together with other services to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal.

Houston is capable of supporting a multitude of missions, including anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface ship warfare, naval special warfare involving special operations forces, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, irregular warfare and mine warfare.
