JAVA SEA (Jan. 7, 2014) - The littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) operates near the location where the tail of AirAsia Flight QZ8501l was discovered. Fort Worth is currently supporting Indonesian-led efforts to locate the downed aircraft.

JAVA SEA (Jan. 3, 2015) - U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Adam Garnett signals an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter from Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 35 on the flight deck of the littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth. Fort Worth is currently in the Java Sea conducting helicopter search-and-recovery operations with the USS Sampson as part of Indonesian-led efforts to locate downed AirAsia Flight 8501.
