MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan - U.S. Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 242 pose for a group photo following the announcement of their new squadron motto at Yamaguchi, Japan, Nov. 13, 2022. The new motto, “Victory by Dawn” encapsulates the heritage for VMFA-242 while symbolizing the transition from F/A-18 Hornets to F-35B Lightning II aircraft.
