Secretary of Defense Ash Carter meets with Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak and Malaysia Minister of Defense Hishammuddin Hussein during the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Defense Ministers Meeting Plus in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Nov. 4, 2015. The leaders discussed matters of mutual importance. During the trip the secretary will meet with leaders from more than a dozen nations across East Asia and South Asia to help advance the next phase of the U.S. military’s rebalance in the region by modernizing longtime alliances and building new partnerships.
