MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII - A memorial service honoring the lives of the 12 fallen Marines of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 will be held on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Jan. 22.
The memorial service will be hosted by Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 and is intended to be a unit memorial that Marines, service members and dependents of MCB Hawaii may attend.
Although we welcome the outpouring of support from the general public, we must restrict attendance for this event.
The memorial will be available to the public through the following live stream link at 10 a.m. (HST) and 3 p.m. (EST) on YouTube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnrtyPn637o. The live stream is titled "HMH-463 Honors 12 Marines in Memorial Service."
The squadron will be observing a moment of silence at approximately 11 a.m. HST.
The Governor of the State of Hawaii has ordered the flags of the United States and State of Hawaii be flown at half-staff for five days from sunrise on Friday, Jan. 22, to sunset on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016. Marine Corps Base Hawaii will also fly its flag at half-staff.
