7th Fleet Aircraft Transits Taiwan Strait

TAIWAN STRAIT – A U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon transited the Taiwan Strait in international airspace on Feb. 27, 2023 (local time). The United States will continue to fly, sail, and operate anywhere international law allows including within the Taiwan Strait. By operating within the Taiwan Strait in accordance with international law, the United States upholds the navigational rights and freedoms of all nations. The aircraft’s transit of the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the United States’ commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.

U.S., Djibouti, Japan Partner in Trilateral Engagement to Combat Illegal Shipping
Members of the U.S. Navy’s Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 8, the Djiboutian Navy, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force participated in a trilateral training engagement aboard the Japanese destroyer JS Suzutsuki based in the Port of Djibouti, Feb. 25. MSRON 8, assigned to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, provides CLDJ’s 31 tenant commands and visiting naval vessels protection through 24/7 port security and escorting operations.
