CAMP WALKER, Republic of Korea -- U.S. Army Installation Management Command-Pacific senior leaders visited with U.S. Army Garrison Daegu staff during a mid-October, multi-day installation tour that included stops at Camp Carroll, Camp Henry and Camp Walker.
“We're here to collaborate with every garrison command team on the peninsula and to focus on our organization’s priorities of taking care of Soldiers, families and veterans,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Jon Y. Williams, senior enlisted advisor for IMCOM-Pacific.

The visit was Williams’ first opportunity to tour USAG Daegu facilities since his assumption of responsibilities in August. He spent a significant portion of his visit interacting with Soldiers in their living spaces, getting input from them directly.
“I think the best part was going to an older barracks and seeing how well-maintained it was. What was nice about that was the company commander attended with their barracks manager and, because of their personal care and pride, it was in great condition.”
Williams also praised the USAG Daegu command team members for their “energy, focus and a proactive approach to multiple projects” noting “these relatively small projects have made a big impact and improved the whole USAG Daegu Area.”
In the past calendar year USAG Daegu has completed numerous community improvement projects: renovations to fitness centers, a new library, a large dog park, an updated teen center, a larger post office and new Army Family Housing tower.
“Overall Daegu has really impressed me. This is probably one of the best installations I've seen in how it manages opportunities to improve physical fitness equipment and facilities. Just phenomenal facilities, phenomenal planning and some great team members who are maximizing their budgets and doing more with less money,” said Williams.
