JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii --
Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific awarded today a $10 million firm-fixed price contract to Icon SI (Aust) Pty Ltd of South Perth, WA Australia for the construction of Earth Covered Magazines (ECM) at Royal Australian Air Force Base, Tindal, Australia.

This Asia-Pacific Resiliency project provides adequately sized, structurally sound, and safe munitions storage capacity in the form of ECM. This project supports plans outlined by the bilateral United States/Australia Force Posture Agreement and enables Bilateral Enhanced Air Cooperation missions. The work to be performed provides for the construction of two ECM and a production area that will include a munitions assembly conveyor shelter to support United States and Australia military joint training activities. The project will also require a new electrical service with a unit substation and a new telecommunication service at the site.
