UNITED STATES - Tripler Army Hospital on or very near the Pearl Harbor Day attacks of Dec. 7, 1941, the “Day of Infamy” that launched the U.S. into World War II. Tripler was the largest hospital in the Territory of Hawaii. Army nurse Kathryn Doody was on call that day in the Tripler operating rooms, which cared for hundreds of casualties, she recounted in her video recollections. (photo courtesy U.S. Army)
