Alaska Army National Guard executes Arctic training, helps local dog race

BETHEL, Alaska - In this file photo, U.S. Army Alaska Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Mark O'Neil gathers logs to construct a thermal shelter during the Northern Warfare Training Center's Cold Weather Orientation Course November 29, 2017 at Black Rapids Training Site, Alaska. The students constructed and spent the night in their two-man thermal shelters without the use of an external heat source, learning the value of readiness and survival training in Arctic conditions.
