Old jet breaks new barriers

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan - U.S. Air Force Col. R. Scott Jobe, the 35th Fighter Wing commander, throws up the 14th and 13th Fighter Squadrons' signs, respectively, before a flight at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Nov. 20, 2017. During the subsequent flight, Jobe's F-16 Fighting Falcon earned the distinction of being the first U.S. Air Force F-16 to surpass 9,500 flight hours. Currently, this aircraft is slated to remain in service until it exceeds 12,000 flying hours.
