September 18, 2017 -- CAMP H.M. SMITH, Hawaii - HONOLULU (Sept. 18, 2017) — The Honorable Marise Payne, Minister of Defense, Australia, center, her staff, members of the Australian military and Maj. Gen. Kevin Schneider, Chief of Staff U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM), pay respects during the playing of Taps during a commemorative wreath presentation at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The ceremony honored those dead, missing in action, lost and buried at sea. Payne is in Hawaii to meet with Adm. Harry Harris, Commander of PACOM, and other leaders to discuss the threat posed by North Korea’s ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs, ballistic missile defense, and the importance of coming together as an international community to create more multilateral partnerships with other nations throughout the Pacific.
