Wills (left), the interim command sergeant major of the Army Reserve, shakes hands with Japan Ground Self-Defense CPT Yoshikai Kawamoto (right), JGSDF Ground Staff Office liaison officer to U.S. Army Japan, Aug. 24, 2016. For the first time in their military careers, Wills and LTG Charles D. Luckey, chief, U.S. Army Reserve, visited Japan to understand the close partnership between USARJ and the Army Reserve. Their short yet informative tour also gave the Army Reserve's most senior leaders a rare opportunity to directly engage with Soldiers working and training in Japan and promote the Army Reserve's new vision of becoming a lethal, capable and combat ready force prepared to face the unique challenges in the Pacific.
