150821-N-ZZ999-001 BARKING SANDS, Hawaii (August 20, 2015) Utilitiesman 2nd Class Eric Martin, assigned to Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2, verifies a mooring chain and shackle on an anchor point that will be used during cable splicing operations to allow a cable ship to anchor at a specific location. UCT 2's Construction Dive Detachment Charlie (CDDC) is performing subsea cable maintenance at the Pacific Missile Range Facility. CDDC Is on the first stop of their deployment, where they are conducting inspection, maintenance and repair of various underwater and waterfront facilities in support of the Pacific Fleet.
