Captain Ensor and his fellow crew members had to off load the water by hand with the help of the Thai military because there wasn't a forklift that would fit properly inside the C-130. The C-130 is the first of many to land at Phuket with relief supplies. This C-130 has over five tons of water to unload. Yokota Air base has sent six planes to aid in the world wide relief effort to help victims of the Tsunami that decimated parts of Indonesia and Thailand.

12/29/2004 ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam - Colonel Rod Gregory of Thirteenth Air Force, Andersen AFB, Guam, watches as the last load of cargo in loaded aboard a KC-135 headed for Utaphao, Thailand along with a fifty-two member team in support of the relief efforts in the Southern Asia region. The Air Expeditionary Task Force led by Col. Gregory, is the Air Force component of Joint Task Force 536. Joint Task Force 536 is comprised of forces from all of the military services that will support the relief effort. The Air Expeditionary Task Force will establish, conduct airlift operations to support Joint Task Force 536. Andersen had "boots on the ground" in little over 24-hours after notification of the deployment order. Members from Andersen will remain to assist as long as necessary and until the affected nations can manage this natural disaster with their resources.

UTAPAO, Thailand (Dec. 29, 2004) - An EP-3C Orion surveillance plane assigned to the “Tigers” of Patrol Squadron Eight (VP-8) has been deployed to Utapoa Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, for survey operations in support of disaster relief after a Tsunami hit coastal regions throughout Southeast Asia. KADENA AIR BASE, Japan (Dec. 29, 2004) 2 United States Marines from the Marine Head Quarters Battalion 3rd Division from Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan tape shut a box of supplies gathered for relief to the people of Indonesia in response to the Tsunami that recently devastated the region on the 27th of December that have affected 12 countries killing over 50,000 people and destroying well over 13 billion dollars in damage. The Marines will be flying to Indonesia to take part in humanitarian efforts as part of Joint task Force 5 to deliver the humanitarian goods to the people of Indonesia from Kadena AB Okinawa Japan December 29, 2004

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan (Dec. 29, 2004) - C-130 prepares to take off to Airlift the18th Logistics Readiness Sq., Combat Mobility Element which primarily performs the tactical portion of the airlift mission. The 18th LRS CME will receive rations donate by the United States Government and prepare them for distribution at different locations in Thailand in support of relief effort following the Tsunami that recently devastated the region on the 27th of December killing over 50,000 people and destroying well over 13 billion dollars in damage.
