KADENA AIR BASE, Japan (Dec. 29, 2004) -- United States Marines from the 3rd
Marine Division help load an aircraft pallet of supplies and tools bound to Southeast
Asia as part of disaster relief following the a 9.0 magnitude earthquake that
struck Sunday off the coast of Indonesia causing tsunami waves that have affected
12 countries and has killed least 87,000 people. More than 36,000 MREs and four
aircraft pallets of fresh water were processed through Kadena's cargo area Wednessday.

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan (Dec. 29, 2004) 2 United States Marines from the Marine
Head Quarters Battalion 3rd Division from Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan tape shut
a box of supplies gathered for relief to the people of Indonesia in response to
the Tsunami that recently devastated the region on the 27th of December that have
affected 12 countries killing over 50,000 people and destroying well over 13 billion
dollars in damage. The Marines will be flying to Indonesia to take part in humanitarian
efforts as part of Joint task Force 5 to deliver the humanitarian goods to the

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan (Dec. 29, 2004) - C-130 prepares to take off to Airlift
the18th Logistics Readiness Sq., Combat Mobility Element which primarily performs
the tactical portion of the airlift mission. The 18th LRS CME will receive rations
donate by the United States Government and prepare them for distribution at different
locations in Thailand in support of relief effort following the Tsunami that recently
devastated the region on the 27th of December killing over 50,000 people and destroying
well over 13 billion dollars in damage.
