The U.S. Army and JGSDF bilateral convoy simulated a humanitarian relief mission as part of the Shizuoka Prefecture Comprehensive Disaster Drill. The drill demonstrated how a diverse collection of local, regional, national and international organizations can pool their respective resources to effectively respond to a major disaster. In addition to coordinating convoy routes, the contingent of U.S. Army troops collaborated with their JGSDF counterparts to provide casualty care, establish mobile communication site and set up supply distribution points.
