U.S., Indian navies hold ceremony to commemorate India’s first MH-60R

SAN DIEGO, California - Vice dm. Kenneth Whitesell, Commander, U.S. Naval Air Forces, left, Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Indian Ambassador to the U.S., center, and Vice Adm. Ravneet Singh, Indian Navy Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, observe customs and courtesies as the Indian and U.S. national anthems are played during a ceremony commemorating the first two MH-60R Seahawks being inducted into the Indian Navy at Naval Air Station North Island. The Indian Navy will receive a total of 24 MH-60Rs in the contract with the U.S. Navy which will enhance our Navy-to-Navy cooperation and strengthen our combined subsurface and surface warfare capability and capacity in the Indo-Pacific region.
