MARFORPAC aircraft launch to support Korea Flying Training 2024
240411-G-G0020-1630 SATAWAL, Micronesia (April 11, 2024) Petty Officer 1st Class Joshua Pablo, the EMT aboard USCGC Oliver Henry (WPC 1140), awaits pick up on Satawal, Yap State, Federated States of Micronesia, on April 11, 2024, with an injured 9-year-old boy and his parents for further transport aboard a Pacific Mission Aviation flight to a higher level of medical care in Yap. Upon arriving to Satawal to deliver drought relief supplies in partnership with USAID and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the U.S. Coast Guard crew was informed of the boy's injury sustained when he fell from a tree. The ship's EMT, Petty Officer 1st Class Joshua Pablo, consulted a U.S. Coast Guard flight surgeon who recommended the medevac and provided care throughout the more than 13-hour overnight transit. LOS ANGELES, California - Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Sudan Roache, from Severn, Md., stores N95 masks in casualty receiving aboard the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) April 20. Mercy deployed in support of the nation's COVID-19 response efforts, and serves as a referral hospital for non-COVID-19 patients currently admitted to shore-based hospitals. This allows shore base hospitals to focus their efforts on COVID-19 cases. One of the Department of Defense's missions is Defense Support of Civil Authorities. DoD is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, as well as state, local and public health authorities in helping protect the health and safety of the American people.
