Bonhomme Richard departs Sasebo, concludes forward-deployed service
The amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) returned to Sasebo, Japan, following a routine patrol of the Indo-Pacific region. Bonhomme Richard is visiting its Sasebo homeport for the final time before performing a homeport shift to San Diego after six years of being forward deployed to Japan.

HONOLULU, Hawaii - Crewmembers from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point aboard an HC-130 Hercules airplane monitor a located vessel off Christmas Island, Republic of Kiribati, Dec. 13, 2017. The crew conducted an over-flight on a reported overdue vessel they found the night before while monitoring the rendezvous of the vessel Cape Odyssey, part of the Automated Mutual-Assistance Vessel Rescue System.
