Assistant Secretary Frank A. Rose to Travel to Australia, China, and Hawaii

Washington, DC - Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance Frank A. Rose will travel to China, Australia, and Hawaii September 8 - September 17, for meetings and public remarks on strategic stability, space security, and multilateral arms control.

September 8-9, Assistant Secretary Rose will be in Beijing for a series of meetings on multilateral arms control, strategic stability, and space security. He will meet with senior officials from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the Chinese Academy of Military Science.

September 9-15, Assistant Secretary Rose will travel to Australia. He will first visit the Harold E. Holt Naval Communication Station in Exmouth. Assistant Secretary Rose will next travel to Canberra to meet with senior officials from the Australian Departments of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Defence. While there, he will also chair the bilateral U.S.-Australia Space Security Dialogue and the U.S.-Australia-Japan Trilateral Space Security Dialogue.

September 15-16, Assistant Secretary Rose will attend conferences and meetings in Hawaii. On September 15, Assistant Secretary Rose will deliver public remarks on space situational awareness at the Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies Conference (AMOS). On September 16, he will meet with senior leaders from United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) on a set of strategic issues.
