USS Lake Erie, U.S. Service Members Render Assistance in Sri Lanka after Devastating Floods

Fire Controlman 2nd Class Jason McEntire from the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70) works with Sri Lankan Marines to repair levees in Matara, Sri Lanka, June 12, 2017 during humanitarian assistance operations in the wake of severe flooding and landslides that devastated many regions of the country. Recent heavy rainfalls brought by a southwestern monsoon triggered flooding and landslides throughout the country, displacing thousands of people and causing significant damage to homes and buildings.

Ceremony Celebrates O'Neil's Time at U. S. Army Pacific

The Flying "V" ceremony was held to honor O'Neil for his distinguished service as he prepares to depart USARPAC. Joint Exercise Tests Combat Search, Rescue Capabilities

Two U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancers assigned to the 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, deployed from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, fly a 10-hour mission from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, through the South China Sea, operating with the U.S. Navy's Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104). The joint training, organized under Pacific Command's continuous bomber presence program (CBP), allows the Air Force and Navy to increase interoperability by refining joint tactics, techniques and procedures while simultaneously strengthening their ability to seamlessly integrate their operations.
