Two U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bombers assigned to the 69th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, fly overhead the U.S. Navy USS Spruance (DDG 111) guided missile destroyer following a joint-service bombing exercise in the Pacific Ocean, June 15, 2016. As part of routine continuous bomber presence operations, the bombers’ presence allows U.S. forces to integrate multiple aerial platforms in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

Exercise Koa Moana: First Direct Training between U.S. Marines, Papua New Guinea Defence Force

Airmen assigned to the 18th Wing conduct an organizational tank inspection June 21, 2016, at Kadena Air Base, Japan. The inspection was of two convault tanks that are maintained by the 18th Civil Engineer Squadron water fuel system maintenance (WFSM) team. After the inspection was completed, the 18th CES WFSM team was informed of any issues that needed to be resolved.

For the past 14 years, Marines aboard Camp Schwab have been teaching children and young adults basic grammar and commonly used words for communication. According to Romero, they not only learned from and taught their Okinawan neighbors, but they continue to build on a bond 71 years in the making. Romero is a warehouse clerk with Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.

CARAT is a series of annual maritime exercises between the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the armed forces of nine partner nations to include Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.
