U.S., Korean Navies Complete 31st Annual Salvage Exercise

Sailors assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1, Company 1-6, embarked aboard the Military Sealift Command rescue and salvage ship USNS Salvor (T-ARS 52) work to complete a heavy lift of a 30 ton wrecked Korean vessel as part of Salvage Exercise (SALVEX) 2015. The heavy lift was the culmination of a two-week bilateral exercise between U.S. Navy divers and Republic of Korea (ROK) navy divers which focused on reinforcing teamwork and interoperability between the U.S. and ROK navies while giving Sailors the opportunity to sharpen their tactical skills. U.S., Republic of Korea Marines Ruck Over Mountains

In this file photo, U.S. and Republic of Korea Marines hike a 35- km path up a mountain Jan. 15 during Korean Marine Exchange Program 15-3 in Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea. The U.S. Marines hiked side-by-side with their ROK Marine counterparts through snow and ice. The U.S. Marines are reconnaissance men with Alpha Company, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The ROK Marines are force reconnaissance men with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division.
