U.S. Embassy Bangkok Partners with Duang Prateep Foundation to Stop the Spread of COVID-19

U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Thailand

U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Thailand -- U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Michael Heath, together with U.S. Embassy Bangkok Senior Defense Official Colonel Wayne Turnbull, visited the Duang Prateep Foundation in Klong Toey to donate COVID-19 relief supplies. This donation to the Foundation, under the leadership of Mrs. Prateep Ungsongtham Hata, demonstrates U.S. commitment to work with Thai partners to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.

The donation included 30,000 disposable masks for children, teens, and adults, 5,000 tubes of alcohol gel, 5,000 hand gel dispensers, and 400 pulse oximeters. These supplies will equip the Duang Prateep Foundation to continue to support the community to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The U.S. Embassy in Bangkok and Joint U.S. Military Advisory Group Thailand (JUSMAGTHAI) have been working in collaboration with Thai government authorities and non-profit partners to provide assistance in fighting COVID-19.

Chargé d’Affaires Heath said, “We appreciate the role of the Duang Prateep Foundation as the COVID-19 information and distribution center. It is a tough task. The people of the United States stand together with you in the fight against COVID-19. We believe that together we will prevail, and we are proud to be part of the effort to help the Klong Toey community during this crisis.”
